The Bow & Arrow choke — or Okuri Eri Jime (送襟絞) if you’re keeping it traditional — is one of the most iconic finishes in BJJ and judo. We turned our favourite gi strangle into a Japanese-inspired artwork and dropped it on a premium 220gsm cotton blank.

This tee is more than merch — it’s a nod to every grappler who’s ever hit the choke and felt that sweet collar snap shut.

INSPIRATION

This design is inspired by all those sessions on the mat when we’ve had our back taken and collar gripped only to realise all too late, that our fate has been sealed (and tapping with a gurgle a short time later).

SUBMISSION TYPE

The Okuri-eri-jime 送襟絞 (Sliding collar strangle) is a frequently used Waza, and though it has many variations, depending on the opponent's posture, its defining feature is that Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) is strangled with their own collar.

PACKAGING

Simple, eye catching and hand made - all the markers of Kakuto Culture and Kakuto Studios packaging.

Our Sankaku tee is wrapped in a Japanese style gift wrapping handkerchief, handprinted in house using the screen printing method with our custom Kakuto Culture Kamon (family crest). Topped with a hand printed post card with the Sankaku design and details about the process to create this particular piece.
