Bow & Arrow (Okuri Eri Jime/送襟絞) is our favourite gi choke.

The Okuri-eri-jime (Sliding collar strangle) is a frequently used techniquein BJJ and Judo, and though it has many variations, depending on the opponent's posture, its defining feature is that Uke (Player receiving opponent's attack) is strangled with his own collar.

INSPIRATION

This design is inspired by all those sessions on the mat when we’ve been caught in a triangle only to realise all too late, that our fate has been sealed (and tapping out a short time later).

SUBMISSION TYPE

Sankaku in Japanese means triangle. This essential submission in BJJ and Judo (known as the sankaku-jime) is one every grappling enthusiast has at least tried, if not attempted to master throughout their grappling career.

PACKAGING

Simple, eye catching and hand made - all the markers of Kakuto Culture and Kakuto Studios packaging.

Our Sankaku tee is wrapped in a Japanese style gift wrapping handkerchief, handprinted in house using the screen printing method with our custom Kakuto Culture Kamon (family crest). Topped with a hand printed post card with the Sankaku design and details about the process to create this particular piece.
